My great-grandmother is a great source of inspiration for breaking the chains of patriarchy and being independent when society forced women to be emotionally and financially dependent on men. Unhappy with her cheating husband, she left him and relocated to the United States from England with two kids. She never married after. She got a job and raised her children by herself.
